Anyone else play ADC without using attack move?
Cause I have literally 0 idea on how attack move works, I always do everything by clicking. It works for me for the most part so...
Someone teach me how it works, cause I have 0 clue.

I use shift+right click for attack move, which makes it easy to alternate between moving and attack-moving.
Three ways i (try to) use attack move:
I don't adc and I don't have attack move assigned to a hotkey. But if I did play adc I'd probably use it. It's much more reliable than clicking targets, I believe.
I don't main it and it's probably my worst role, but I don't use attack move. It might be why I'm so bad, but I doubt it. I think I just have bad judgement when playing marksmen.
Attack move is where you press a button and the next movement comand will make the unit attack anythign they can within range on the way to where you clicked.
Attack move click is the same thing but removed the requirement of pressing a button and instead is a movement command by itself where the unit will target anything within range that it can while moving towards the area you clicked
Also worth noting is that if you have 2 enemies in range and use either of these the unit will target the enemy closest to the area that you clicked for the movement command.
Most players will have something related to attack move on A which if I recall is the default for attack move
The example I'd start with for attack move is to attack something that is already IN RANGE (for ranged characters). Could be a minion you want to last hit or an enemy champion. With regular attack if you misclick and click near your target, you start moving there, which most often is what you do NOT want (esp. if it's a melee champion). With attack-move if you misclick, you will attack either your target (if you clicked closer to it than any other enemy unit) or something else which while not ideal is probably better than moving toward it. So I would start with using attack-move for that, rather than for cases where you want the "move" part (those are useful too, but trickier to explain). Did this explanation make sense?
For ranged junglers, it also makes kiting much easier, but I do not think you are asking about that...
P.S. This is all assuming you use shift+click to attack-move. A then click is too slow more often than not for this.
I also don't use attack move. Never used it and still haven't, not sure how it even works. I mean, I seem to be doing alright though! XD
you press A and then click on what you want to attack. if you are kiting back and there is no other target near you and you just want to hit the enemy closest to you, just press A and then right click behind you and you will walk back and stop to auto the closest person.
pretty straight forward. a lot of people over think it. A click brings up your attack range by default to so you can see if you will move forward to attack or not if you click on them. it helps you stay at max range until you can play without it.
I set one button to attack + move so for me its just A right click A right click etc. Late game, the extra 3+ autos I get on the deadmans bruiser whos about to step on my face is pretty important.
Doublelift doesnt use attack move on certain champions like Vayne/Tristana/Jinx/ezreal
I'm an ADC main and I don't use Attack Move. I don't actually know how it works and admit to being nervous about trying to learn.
Never once. Should probably change that.
I don't use attack move. I just right click a lot. :P
Attack moving is just using A + click instead of right click. Say you are trying to click a minion and click just next to them instead, your character will just walk to where you right click unless you quickly correct it. By using attack move, you will only move as far forward as you need to and attack the closest thing to you.
The reason to use it is that if you are in a teamfight and miss click, the last thing you want as an ADC is to just be wandering into the enemy Assassin when you actually meant to attack him, so by attack moving, you might move forward a step or two, but you'll stay as far away as your attack range is.
Another good use is if you need to facecheck a bush, and you A click into it, you will immediately start attacking anything that is in that bush. So while you may still die from the champion that you facechecked, you'll still get a few hits in before you actually see them.
All you do is press A and click instead of just right clicking. I currently have mine bound to space, so in a team fight, I right click away from fight, space near/on enemy, right click away, space near/on enemy. Some people used to bind it to left click, so you'd just alternate left and right click.
Phylol did a simple guide on it if you'd like to see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uWqC7jP3f8
It's useful, especially if you don't have a gaming mouse (or the best aim). It has its disadvantages though. It only attacks the nearest enemy, so it's bad for picking targets, and whether you move to cursor or attack depends entirely on if you have an enemy in aa range (leading to some really awkward kiting if not done right). It's usually bound to a + left click but I changed it to alt + right click to free up my q and make the rhythm easier.
When you're using it, it doesn't replace standard right clicking. Assuming your intended target is the closest one in aa range, you attack move, standard move to position, and repeat. You'll find that it saves you a lot of mouse movement and it makes it easier to time your autos and cancels, but if you do this in the middle of a minion wave you look like an idiot.
Yeh, I've never used attack move at all. I personally just have some quick reactions, high APM and I'm pretty precise when clicking. I can manually kite without ever attack moving on Ashe, who's the main ADC I actually play.
I assign my attack move to T and just use it when I'm kiting one person back. It's really good to avoid miss clicking and stepping forward.
play a few games as kalista and you will pick it up pretty fast, its almost essential to play her properly
