Is Pyke an actual support?
So It's bugging me since his announcment.
As much as I might like his design I'm getting upset that he's labeled as a support. Riot on their recent champions was always trying to give them somethng unique- Ornn doesn't have to back, Xayah and Rakan synergy, Kayn can choose a transformation form etc. each of them is suiting their role and making the champion memorable and one of the kind. For me support is about protecting, peeling, sometimes staying behind and dying so your team can run away and so on, and Pyke? he is just an assassin. With a fancy gold share but he doesn't feel as support at all and it's really upsetting because I hoped that we'd get a unique support who FEELS like support, with some new special ability making it one of a kind between supports. Pyke with his ratios and kit can easily be played in jungle or as mid asaassin, still having a good use of his gold share (which is not a bad thing), and labeling him as a supp just because gold share feels forced. Additionally, thinking that now I'd have to wait year or more again and I can't be even sure if then we'll get an actual support makes me sad.
What do You think about that?
edit : I refer to support as they were dessigned for. If You play long enough You should recall the team buildier and how the champs were divided : mage, marksman, assassin, tank/defenders, fighter, support, and it was based on their skill type. Of course mage can fill as support (like brand or annie) and support like lulu can go top and it's fine. But supporting with a champion doesnt make him support (like for example mf is designed as marksman and she was played support but that doesnt make her a support champion). So I expected Pyke (in announcments) to take a place of assassin but intended for botlane, and actual support keep the support term from old team buildier ( for example ivern he is support but he's intendet for a jungle), and it led me to expectations which made me disapponted. So it's more about how he should be announced.
.
for fun. They wanted to build a champ from the ground up with this idea in mind. To farther enable people who do that & encourages others to do the same.
