Getting the third "first ranked" teammate in my promo

So this happened today...

>me and my premade friends hit promotion to gold >We played three games. >Three games in a row we got a dude in our team who hasnt played any ranked games yet >We got tilted >We lost promotion >Even more tilt >Realizing we are playing League of Legends >Getting back to ranked >Repeat >Being sad

Why did we get matched with dudes that are unranked, when our mmr is clearly above silver standards?

(btw this shit happened on EUW but the boards simply have more range) (anyways the matchmaking is on all servers the same so no flamerino pls)
