I feel like Lucian needs the Varus Treatment more than Varus did.

The Varus buffs were kinda cool since you now can play both the Attack Speed Crit build and the Muramana Caster Build without one of the two being inherently better than the other.

But with Lucian it's even more drastic. After the changes to armor penetration items happened, he had to go back to the attack speed crit build - even though he really doesn't scale very well with it all that much.

Jhin, another AD caster marksman who had to change to a crit build from a penetration build, didn't get hit as hard as Lucian did because of his attack speed into bonus AD conversion and because he had some inherent synergy with it in his kit.

Lucian doesn't really want it all that much because he's mostly auto attacking in between in his abilities who have a cast time on their own to get the double shot off, which means that at some point the bonus attack speed is kind of wasted since the cast time of your abilities is long enough for the bonus attack speed to matter less. Then of course there's also his ultimate, which takes attack speed out of the equasion completely.

I feel like bringing a little bit of the old ultimate attack speed scaling back wouldn't be a bad idea, so this way he doesn't have to feel too bad about picking up that Zeal item after the Essence Reaver. I'm also kind of convinced that this change in his ultimate's scaling might be what caused the whole penetration build desaster in the first place.

Either way, if it's not a change in his ultimate it needs to be something else to make him feel a little better about picking up attack speed again.
