@ScuttleChris Queue time issues below "high elo"
ScuttleChris (NA) - 7 days ago I agree. We need to fix those issues. Queue times are too long at high Elo. For most players below diamond they're the same or faster, but they're unacceptably long for high Elo. We have a team working on this now and they've got some good solutions to speed up high end matchmaking that we're currently testing and tweaking.
So this was a response you put forward in the thread "Riot Pls: Dynamic Queue, Sandbox, and League 2016" on the announcements board. I don't know where you guys are getting this for players below diamond being the same or faster.
Before the new champ select/dynamic queue came out I RARELY had over a 2 minute wait no matter the time of day I played on Silver through Diamond accounts.
One of my accounts (one I will be sharing images of below) is currently at Plat 4 with MMR from P3-P5 for matchmaking purposes. A quick lookup of na.op.gg stats for tiers shows: 17,913 Platinum 3 Ranked Players 20,900 Platinum 4 Ranked Players 40,063 Platinum 5 Ranked Players. for a total of 78,876 players I should be able to match with fairly easily with-in MMR.
Great! So 7,887 games can be formed if everyone is online, obviously that will never be the case. But even a hundredth is fair to say, so 78~ games going at a time during prime hours.
Alright now we've got those dirty numbers out of the way: http://i65.tinypic.com/mjbo07.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/11rcc1y.jpg
The first image is of a Bot/Mid queue at 9:43. I canceled the queue at roughly the 10 minute mark and restarted it. The second image is of the same Bot/Mid queue at 10minutes. If you notice, there happened to be 2 games where people failed to accept the queue, both of these occurred from the 30sec-2min queue mark, then nothing for the next 8 minutes.
I didn't bother attaching a third image because I decided I was done playing league today but I restarted the queue a THIRD time and got a queue pop at 30 seconds, again someone failed to accept. At roughly the 6minute mark I finally got into Champion Select. Someone proceeded to not lock-in/dodge and by the time the next 10minute showing came up, I decided to quit for the day.
So that being said, I spent 30 minutes in queue looking for a game after having played one with a 5~minute queue previously. Of this 30 minutes it found me 4 games, only one of which actually went forward to champion select.
You can count this as: over 7 minutes to find a game or 30 minutes to find a game. I'm sure it will be looked at as 7 minutes, but having only gotten into Champion Select once in 30 minutes, that's the way I choose to look at it.
So @ScuttleChris, I'd really love to actually see numbers for people below diamond being the same or faster because my own evidence (and I'm sure there are plenty plenty more just by looking at post about it on here and the forums) shows that what you said is a mistruth to try and show that the New Champion Selection is better than the previous iteration that we had. (again it's not only one account that this happens on, just happens to be the one I was on when I decided to log).
I'm all for the new champion selection and being able to choose roles I desire. I just can't stand that I'm waiting 3x-15x as long as before to get into a game for roles.
Also side note: We are to pick "2" roles or "fill". Yes I know that support queue times are much much lower, I play support in the mornings and still have a 2-3 minute wait most games, but I don't mind playing support then as people are generally not as bad as later in the evening. Even if I choose Top/Jung my queue times are still atrociously higher than before.
Please actually address the issues and give numbers to show that it's better instead of using a blanket statement to cover the real truth. It's simple enough to say "Before NCS average queue time was 1:50 (this is what was shown in the images)" "With the NCS average queue time is 5:00" EVEN better it could be broken down to say "In Silver ELO the before/after" "In Gold ELO the before/after" and such. No one believes the statements that have been said as we can all use anecdotal evidence for what we believe to be true.
