Regarding Adding More Bans
The current champion select phase seems fine now, but with more champions constantly being added to the game (as well as 10 bans in Pro play) we have a bit of a flooded and inflated game now. That being said, I feel it would be worth upping the bans a bit to get every player involved. Without adding more time to champ select, I kind of thought up my own simple method that may get every player involved in the ban phase, but also may actually cut down the pick/ban and champ select time in total. So here's what I came up with, and take it for what it is: a blueprint that could be used for tweaking.
Every player in the game chooses one champion to ban immediately among entering champ select. Any champion that is selected multiple times by the different players have the ban refunded to them based on the pick order and can select another champion to ban. Leaving 6 bans total + whatever else is chosen up to 10 possible. Give or take, but base the idea off of this concept so picks/bans go faster. Similar but not exact to pro play. We wouldn't have to wait 6 turns using this approach either since everyone does it at the same time. Thoughts?
