If you're going to keep duo queue can you atleast copy rocket league.

In rocket league if you queue up with someone higher ranked than you, you automatically get placed against players who are of the equal rank of the highest ranked duo partner.

So basically this is how it would work: If a silver 5 duos with a gold 1, instead of averaging their MMR and placing them against against S2- G5s it would place them against G2-Plat 5 players. This would not only help kill smurfing a bit but overall make ranked a more fair and balanced experience.

Its not fair when players have to play against a player who is a whole division higher than them.
