Playing the hand you are dealt

About a week or two ago, I got a game of what I'm guessing was four premades. The ADC asked me if I had Thresh. I would have preferred to play a champion that I didn't get Mastery 7 with yet, but if someone has a request for a support, I will at least give it some thought. Considering that I was first pick in the second queue we ended up in (damn autododgers), I went ahead and picked Thresh, since I couldn't respond to team compositions.

The instant he picked Kled, I realized what he was up to. This was reaffirmed multiple times over when his teammates went Darius, Nautilus and Pyke.

If you couldn't tell, they wanted a team full of hooks.

It was a stupid composition that relied on the hooking gimmick too much. If the enemy had any sense in their head and picked some kind of crowd-blasting mage, this would have blown up in our faces.

Somehow it worked, and we forced the enemy to surrender at 15 minutes.

Just yesterday, I went Tristana ADC and got a Teemo support. I didn't raise a stink about it and just let him do his thing; the reason I'm a support main is because I'm used to getting far worse "supports" (read: people throwing cosmic shitfits and doing everything in their power to get themselves permabanned over being delegated to support). We destroyed our lane, then managed to hit and run the enemy's lanes enough times for me to blow up their turrets in record time and eventually win the game.

Sometimes (read: ALL OF THE FUCKING TIME), you just have to play the hand you are dealt and play the game. Adapt to what is thrown at you, and don't expect the absolutely best case scenario all game every game.
