It has been shown that the damage output of champions is higher than in something like season 3, due to high damage increase in masteries and the introduction of stacking infernal drakes. Here is the effect this damage increse caused. Tanks turn into bruisers that have moderate damage and high survivability while still retaining their cc. Bruisers turn into assassins that have high burst against squishy targets while having good mobility and moderate durability, while having some cc to lock down their targets. Assassins turn into what is known as a "super assassin" which can explode any opponent who has less than 3k hp and can even chunk tanky targets, but get exploded themselves. Mages turn from "slowly chunking the enemy team with cc and damage." to "use 1 rotation and all carries die and tanks lose up to 40% of their health." Marksman turned from "slowly take down the enemy frontline from range while sustaining any low damage they deal to you." into "deal massive dps to the target you right clicked, and healing 1/4 your hp bar every 0.5 seconds, but you die to a sneeze."
