It's like the Riot dev team has never actually played against Yasuo or Fiora.

Skirmishers

Unlike Assassins, Skirmishers aim to shred through any nearby enemy that approaches. Because Skirmishers lack high-end burst damage or reliable ways of closing in on high-priority targets, they are instead armed with situationally powerful defensive tools to survive in the fray, along with extreme sustained damage to cut down even the most durable targets.

Really?

My personal opinion is Yasuo has never been very happy about hitting anyone but high priority targets. But he definitely gets punished when he overextends, and he frequently needs assistance in getting to the back line (an ally to knock them up). Fiora, on the other hand, I've seen chew through a lot of tanks in her time. Her ultimate payoff makes a lot of sense in pushing that forward: she rewards her team substantially by killing a tank before picking other targets.

Yasuo/Fiora doesn't immediately jump on your high priority teammate unless your team lets them or your team is just that poorly out of position, and when they do they aren't taking them out anywhere near as fast as an assassin is.

Compare Yasuo and Fiora's ability to dive past your frontline, burst down a squishy in 1-2 seconds and get back out to an equally fed Fizz or Zed.

Hint: it's not the same.

"Really?" is not an argument. Hell, it's hardly even a response.

I can assume based on your emphasis in the quote, but I don't see anything wrong with what you emphasized, so I'm at a loss.

Are you saying that Yasuo has reliable ways of closing in on high-priority targets? And are you saying that Fiora has high-end burst damage and reliable ways of closing in on high-priority targets?

Because if you are, you're wrong.

Yasuo can have some burst if he's able to ult onto somebody. Nobody is arguing differently. Maybe you skipped over, like...the whole post, where they repeatedly say that classes/subclasses are not rigid and are more like guidelines than rules.

Just because Garen has a movement speed buff doesn't mean he's not a Juggernaut.

Just because Fizz can build Sunfire/IBG doesn't mean he's not an Assassin.

Lux is not an Enchanter just because she can shield allies.

Etc.

Yasuo and Fiora are melee carries.

They still play like assassins, you get in some ones face, and they die, or you die.

I think it's pretty accurate. It does say they have extreme sustained damage. Think of it as the difference between Lux and Azir. A lategame Azir might still burst you down, especially if he slides on you, but overall his pattern is just very high sustained damage. vs lux who catches you and instagibs you. In this case, the difference between fiora/yi/yasuo's damage and assasins like kha'zix is pretty big, even if the damage is very high from fiora
