Creep Scoring Problems

Ok so I have been playing League for about 6 months now and I have gotten relatively good at it. But I have one glaring problem. I can't cs. I am so bad that, for ranked, I have abandoned my main (Mid-lane) for supp/jg because cs isn't that big of a deal in those lanes. The weird thing is, I try so hard, to the point where I miss ganks and poke etc. to cs and yet for example when I have around 40 they have 80 so the only way I can stay even with them is by getting super fed, which isn't terribly easy with most of the champs I play. So basically I am asking for tips and tricks to csing better with Ahri Velkoz Syndra Katarina who are the mid laners I play on a normal basis. I hope also that this thread will help others who have the same problem as I do lol.

Just last hit if it gets too difficult to auto them down. While this isn't a perfect fix it should get you going in the right direction Mid-lane (especially with mages) is very hard to cs if you have an aggressive opponent or are under tower. Just practice in custom game with no enemy bots, to about 5 minutes in, and try and get all the minions you can. this should help. Also there is a mastery that helps in minion damaging from single target spells and attacks.

Last hitting as a mage is the hardest because their base AD is low. Try equiping AD runes to start off, and use the Savagery mastery in the Cunning branch.

Then gradually take the AD runes off one by one as you get better and better at it. A small hint I have for you, since you play mages so much, is that you should learn to last hit minions with basic attacks rather than using abilities to clear them. That way you won't shove your lane as much and won't expose yourself to ganks.

Like the others said, practice. Go in bot games, go down mid, and try to hit every cs until you get to 100 cs. The average goal is 100 cs by either 10 or 20 mins (someone give clarification on this, I can never remember lol). If you're a bit late, that's okay, but that's your goal.

Other than that, pick easy cs champions to start out with. Mages are especially hard to CS with so picking non-mages to practice is a good idea. I recommend Irelia (her Q execution), Kayle (AOE, helps you learn wave management too), and basically any ADC (Miss Fortune and Sivir are good ones for practicing, imo). Nasus is an especially good one to practice csing as because when you CS you're doubling the effect because of the damage from stacking Q. Makes it a lot more valuable to hit every CS than most champs.

Last hitting with Ahri and Syndra can be pretty difficult since their basic attacks are delayed and have low damage. I recommend (but don't take me for word if you think I'm wrong) to take a melee champ or Vel'koz (who has instant basic attack) and train in last hitting. Once you learn to last hit with them, try to learn last hitting with ranged mages.

Simple fix. Play champs with waveclear. Anivia used to be a beautiful example but I'm not sure anymore

Practice, practice, practice, and, you guessed it, more practice. Until you solo carry a team from B5 to World champions, then you are still learning how to CS well.

You'll get better with time, both in general and on the particular champions you play
