Efforts are useless sometimes.
This game needs to be more about Playing it than playing champ select. I just feel likw counter picks are sometimes way too good. Counterpicks should be about skill level with the champ etc. Not because their kit is the most broken thing in the world vs yours.
Let's say for example. I'm first pick. I say, hey! I'm going to pick Kassadin (Ik first pick Kass is trash but still it's just an example), I could help my team out with roams and objectives. Then you see the enemy mid laner picks Talon, well you can pretty much say goodbye to you ENTIRE laning phase. Cause you won't be getting anywhere near the creeps or Talon for that matter cause he will just jump on you and decimate your health bar. Then you better hope their jungler is incompitent cause the moment you walk out of place they will be sure to jump on you with a stun, snare or slow. I'm not sure of exact ways to balance champs around counterpicks. But for example Kass Q could shield damage in general but they could lower the base a bit. That way he can at least somewhat deal with AD heavy counterpicks.
TL;DR counterpicks shouldn't be decided by the champs kit itself but how good the enemy laner uses it. There are literally some champs in this game that will never let you touch a CS in lane, cause if you do you will either take 50% your hp in damage or die from an all in. I prefer skilled matchups over the idea of counter picks. Trynd vs Aatrox is a PERFECT example of a truely skilled matchup.
