A simple analogy as to why Dynamic Queue will not EVER work in ranked.

  1. I like to play basketball. I like to go to my universities gym and play pick up basketball once or twice a week. I usually go alone, but on the occasion i like to invite one or two of my friends to play with me. I usually go on Wednesday's and Fridays, because that's when I have open time, the players that I play against are usually in the same boat as I and we start to play against each other pretty consistently. We continue to play pickup against each other, usually all in good fun, but we like to keep the competitive nature of the sport and strive for victory. We generally play on an even playing field. All of us are not skilled enough to play in the Division 1 league, but we are skilled enough to play at a decent level. Two teams never stay the same, players are constantly being rotated out, keeping the game fresh. Because the teams are rotating so often, you, as a player, are required to adjust your game and adapt your play style according to your team. It's hard to gauge how your team is going to play. Sometimes you get lucky and click, other times it requires a pretty decent fight to overcome adversity and win the game. The world of pickup basketball is well and accepted, nobody has a problem with pickup rules and many enjoy to play the game in a manner in which they're not required to fully commit to a full 10 man roster team, with coaches and referees. The general population of basketball enjoys to play pick up games and are very content with how and who they play the game with. (this is akin to a normal, non-professional league of legends solo queue ranked player)

Imagine if we throw out a "pick up team" vs a competitive, 5 man team that's played together and has a coach on the sideline. What will happen? The pick up team will get smoked most of the time. Why?

  1. communication - generally, teams with coaches have set plays, which allows them to set up specific offenses and defense. (this is akin to voice chat and team composition in LoL)
  2. experience - teams that have played in a competitive scene have more experience than the "normal pick up player" they can make necessary adjustments to the game and understand their own strengths and weaknesses. (this is akin to experience playing together in LoL and understanding each player's strengths and weaknesses)
  3. control of the game - seasoned basketball teams know how to control and manage the game. They know how to avoid fouls, they know how to draw fouls, they know when a timeout is needed, they understand how to exploit certain weaknesses of the opposing team. (this is akin to objective control, wave management and ganking/baiting)

The results of this game can vary obviously, depending on the player's individual skill, but the team that has a legit coach, offensive and defensive organization (gameplan) and experience have a much higher chance of success against a team full of players that have never played with each other ever.

This basketball analogy fits perfectly with the new Dynamic Queue settings. This game is a fun game, but competitive. Almost all of us on these boards will never be able to play professionally, but we do enjoy and thrive on the competition that ranked solo queue gives. It allows us to showcase our skills in a way that gives us a challenge, but in the same breath we can play "for fun". We are matched against players at or slightly above our skill level and those players are also playing solo. We are on more or less an even playing field. Allowing Dynamic Queue, 5 player queue's will skew the balance in favor of the premade teams. Most games will be stomps and the solo queue player (or pick up basketball player) will wonder, why do I even play this game? What is the enjoyment in getting smashed by a team that's not playing on the same playing field as I? This is my sentiment and I think the Dynamic Queue should be separate from solo/duo queue or completely removed and scrapped from the game.

TLDR: Dynamic queues will skew the balance and competitive spirit of solo/duo queue matches and impact the game in a very negative way.
