What DQ should have been:

-Individual ranks for each position (yes this is possible) -Ranks for Solo, Dynamic, and Teams -Matchmaking based on these

The first is something enabled by the new champ select. You can be diamond in support, silver in mid, etc. All this listed where the single rank currently is in our profiles. Queue up as support and you get put in a diamond game, queue up as mid and you get put in a silver game.

The obvious problem is that someone queues for one role and takes another. The solution is tied into the mastery grades; Riot clearly has a system that figures out which role people are playing, so that can be applied here to fix abuse cases. The support was alone in mid for the first 15 mins? The mmr gains are recalculated for everyone, using that player's mmr for the role they actually played:

A diamond mid taking mid in a silver game will gain no mmr, since their mmr is already far above silver. A diamond mid taking support in a diamond game will gain the same mmr they would've if they won a support game in silver. Premades cannot benefit from their premade taking a different role. Solos get their gains rebalanced normally, since abuse cases with the solos is unlikely. They ought to be compensated for having to deal with a diamond mid in a silver game. Players who are found to frequently play the wrong role will be ranked restricted or otherwise deterred. Infer any other details that would make this functional.

Secondly, players should have solo mmr, dynamic mmr, and 5s mmr. This doesn't really need explaining, but gains in one should result in fractional gains in the others, diminishing the further apart the mmrs are. This way a player who only occasionally premades will have a premade mmr that approximates his solo mmr, but a solo mmr can't be boosted greatly by increasing the dynamic or 5s mmrs. All types need to be in the same queue for queue times to not be awful, but at least this way players should be closer to where they belong in that queue.

(By gains I mean both gains/losses.)
