Prices for name change

Can someone please explain why the price 13900 for a simple changing of name??? other games have it for free and this game is a game for multiplayer battling arena, not a talking game where you walk and chat. Name changing i feel is overpriced and will be bought less so why does riot expect us to use this much money for name changing that has nothing to do with gameplay when we could buy 13 runes or 7 champions.
