Any reasons why I would pick Ezreal over any ADC right now?

  • He scales poorly with crits, and it has pretty much became a must-buy stat on every ADC right now

  • Essence Reaver is a big noob trap item on him now, as you need to buy crits in order for it to be good, and yet, Ezreal sucks with crits. So basically, an item that was MADE for Ezreal is practically shit on him. Perfect.

  • He still has a fucking useless W.

  • His E got nerfed for another .5 seconds cd reduction on his Q (so he needs to have 40% cdr in order to revert the nerf).

  • All of his counters got buffed (Graves, Caitlyn, Draven, Vayne)

  • Trinity Force isn't even a good buy on him anymore. All the stats he liked have either been nerfed or removed. Less AD, no more AP, less attack speed, less movement speed, all this for a 10% crit and 10% cdr. Oh, and it costs now 3800 gold, 100 more gold than before.

  • If he goes blue, his damage will be lacklusting against the other ADC since all the other ADCs syngerize well with crits.

  • HE STILL HAS A FUCKING USELESS W.

wellllll in a lane with a good harass support (i had a karma recently), the poke from your q can make for good, frequent, mid range poke in lane. thanks to his e he's pretty safe in lane, and he's actually pretty strong early (because of his q) so while i'd grant that he's certainly not top tier i think if you're trying to pick something to go even or better in lane cause your jg is gonna focus topside, he's not a terrible pick. also, his w is mostly useless, but if you have a fight over a neutral like baron or dragon that extra attack speed on your lee sin or your yasuo is actually pretty nice (granted it's not the most op skill in the world)

Basically any champ that scales well off AS because that W is like a 2.7k gold boost (same cost as PD minute the crit) in AS stat to any of them. Thats why unless you have 0 faith in your team to peel for you in team fights, max E last. Being able to use W is what I think separates a good Ezreal main from just someone who plays Ezreal.

Another reason why I'd say I like about Ezreal is that I consider him to be a high mobility champ like Ahri or Lee Sin. As an ADC, I find him to provide more than just rawr range AD AA. His ulti provides global presence, a slight burst in team fights, and a slight wave clear across the map. His Q provides a bit of poke. Theres still so much in his kit even after all the nerfs.

Blue Ezreal... Fun, but doesn't provide as much objective taking, team fight prowess power spike as Trinity Force Ezreal because I think good bot lanes can really easily punish an Ezreal that rushed Tear of the Goddess in lane.

It's not really given much notice, but Ezreal is kind of a snowball champion. If he gets ahead, he hurts like a bish. If he gets behind, of course you're going to hate playing him. A big advantage is his powerspike after building Essence Reaver and Trinity Force is much larger than most adc's powerspike after getting their first 2 complete non-boot items. It's ironic that while he's a relatively safe pick as far as avoiding deaths, in turn he's a relatively dangerous pick for remaining relevant if he falls behind.

he actually scales well with crits, as you usually can flank the backline with him - the main problem on this patch though is that his early-midpowerspike is a lot lower than it used to be...as crit needs time to scale and ther´s a lot less options for going ad/pen/cdr without it now.

I really would love to get at least the old ER back, if not the old trinity. Those new ones just suck for the real ad-casters.
