Why does Shen's ultimate have such a long, 180 second, cooldown...

when Brightwing, a Heroes of the Storm hero, has essentially the same ability, but on a 45 second cooldown, available at level 1, WITH the ability to further reduce it down to 15-20 if she consistently heals allies, AND the ability to talent it to provide a shield making it function exactly the same as Shen's ultimate. And that's not all; if you remove the stand united from Shen then he becomes nothing more than a generic tank. Brightwing, on the other hand, essentially has Lulu's entire kit with speedups, polymorphs, mobility, and damage if you discount her global teleport.

This is an example of how LoL champions are such watered down versions of their counterparts from other MOBAs.

Two different games mate. It's like comparing the balance of Call of Duty to Skyrim.

These are completely different games, the only thing they havea similar is map and heroes, everything else is played completely differently in meta, objectives, lvling, gold, theres not even items in Heroes of the Storm etc.

Comparing Apples and Oranges my friend.

Too bad HotS still feels like playing Chutes and Ladders compared to League.

Because HOTS and League are not the same game.
