LS probably made the quote of the year...

So I was watching the recent thorin video in which they were going over TSM's "epic" collapse, and after going over the gist of it (not going to spoil that as it's quite entertaining) they went into detail about what is genuinely wrong with not just the western teams but western players as a whole. Basically, LS brought up the concept that western players "refuse to research, learn, and understand what the other roles do and thus are heavily limited", compared to koreans who oftentimes go to NA solo-queue only to dominate games using their "off-roles". While I don't normally agree with much of what LS has to say, he sorta hit the nail on the head when it comes to western players and specifically solo-queue. While autofill wouldn't typically be a problem in korea (where learn what each role does and some of the matchups there), because people refuse to play the multiple roles it often makes their game knowledge and skillset incredibly limited. I just found that concept to be a bit too "on the nose", hence why I'm a bit in awe.

Here in NA, everyone wants to main mid/top :/

All NA team esports are like this. Even in CSGO, Faze is 100% EU. The culture of NA esports dooms them from the start when it comes to team games. Sure, we're good when it comes to Hearthstone and fighting games, I guess. But NA will never be better than KR/China in mobas, and than EU in FPSes (CSGO anyways).

I dont think you have to play multiple role, but you have to at least research and learn what each role does.

NA soloq is just terrible in general. I don't know about other region, but where I am right now people just tilt each other in champ select and giving up because someone fed first blood.

I guess it's not just me then when it comes to NA and full of people only knowing how to "copy" from others instead of thinking of ways to play on their own...

I have a few non-NA friends and they all tell me that people in their soloQ games aren't always full of copycats as well.

"But... if you try to get good at multiple roles you'll be lackluster, that is too many things to keep track of"

BS, when people say play other roles, they dont mean get rank 1,2,3,4,5 on each of the roles. Just if you are, for instance, challenger learn each role to a plat level. If you are gold, learn each role to be able to HANDLE ranked at a high bronze, low silver level as that role.

Like come on people.

IDK about the culture, but it is a good point

If they ADC doesn't understand how the support role works, especially in lane, they are going to get wrecked. And Vice Versa

Playing Jungle makes it easier to tell when and where the jungler will show up.

Playing toplane you learn how important warding is in regards to TP, so it makes you ward more.

And just understanding the champions in those roles means you're better equipped to beat them when in your main role.

and that's why I play as many roles as I can to proficiency depending on how closely I work with them on my main role support.

U have audacity to quote LS !!!!

More seriously, i totaly agree. And i can saw this in plats games, when jungle gank x lane when a big wave coming under turret... during very early (when cs are most important )
