Rooted status effect

So it has deeply annoyed me and i am sure it has others, but i don't know if it was addressed properly or has been explained. Why if you are rooted can you still be moved around ex. Morgana roots an enemy champ and tahm can eat them and move them around. How can any enemy champ be rooted and still be moved doesn't that defeat the purpose of being rooted. Rooting and being snared are stated as two different things but are treated the same.
