Ranked Changes...What?

I'm trying to understand how I'm appearing Gold in my games after playing a whole year of ranked to get placed Platinum. I've played over 200 games to earn my rank from last season and can't even represent what I so proudly earned. I've been through many bad and good games to earn my Platinum title only to have it stripped away from me this season with these less than great ranking changes. How am I unable to wear my previous ranked into games after about 12 ranked games this season and placing Gold. How does only a handful of games in the new year erase all the work I put in last season to a higher rank? I really cannot wrap my head around the fact that my hard work last season isn't even applicable to my account this season. In previous years, ranked rewards were always shown throughout the new year, and yet what I played so many games for last season isn't even available to me this season. Riot, I really find it mind-boggling that NA is one of the only servers that have to suffer through this awful update. Placing in more than one role is also atrocious, but while that's something I could also go on about, it's not what I'm here to complain about. I'm so unbelievably upset that the server I play on is being used as one of the only test subjects to a horrible new system. These changes may cause me to finally close the book on the game I've played for 6+ years. I cannot support such an unjust system. Every server should have to deal with these frustrating updates, you shouldn't narrow it down to only NA servers, it's not fair in any sense.
