Jungle Tanks: I think I'm clearing wrong

I'm to understand jungle tanks were given some adjustment to have comprable clearing times, but when I play Maokai or J4 I'm still in absolute Agony until lvl 6. Whats your path when clearing, and am I taking the wrong items/runes? (i.e. What runes items should I take?)
