New top laner -- help!

Ok so I've been playing league for a long, long time. I know all the basics. I know the items, I know the champs.

Just started playing top lane. Was jungle/adc main before. Got bored of it. Trying something new.

I win my lane matchup about 80% of the time. I don't really have a lot of trouble out-CSing, out-pushing, and solo killing my lane opponents. So my laning is fairly solid.

However...

  • I have no idea what to do after my enemy tower falls.
  • I have no idea what to do when the minion wave is pushed to the enemy turret.
  • I leave to go help my team but then the enemy top stays and pushes, so I feel like I'm just perma-stuck top lane, or trading on opposite sides of the map.
  • I don't know when to join my team, or when to stay in a side lane for split pressure.
  • I don't know what to do when my team is losing and I'm winning. I don't know the best way I can help.

I play Poppy, Tryndamere, Renekton, Kennen, Rumble, Gangplank, and if the matchup calls for it, Vayne or Lucian. (Immobile melee enemy)

If you don't already watch SoloRenektonOnly on YouTube, DO IT!

He's a pretty solid top laner and he tends to explain his macro game pretty well.

Tbh. Hard shove endlessly and steal enemy jungle. If you’re stealing and tracking the enemy jungler you’re either going to force an inhibitor or draw so much attention your team can force down their objectives.

I have no idea what to do after my enemy tower falls.

a) Get vision in their jngle, take as much jngle from them, try to take herald b) Roam to mid/bot, setup dive or drag contest

I have no idea what to do when the minion wave is pushed to the enemy turret

Setup vision if you don't know where jngler is/be aggresive if you know you won't get ganked/be aggresive if you think you can win 1v2/you can even take one jngle camp/roam mid/take scuttle

I leave to go help my team but then the enemy top stays and pushes, so I feel like I'm just perma-stuck top lane, or trading on opposite sides of the map

If you feel like your team can snowball and win quickly, roaming is good(hard pushing with, idk, Rene, is easy, you will get like 20 secs window to pressure your mid, question is if you want to make space for enemy toplaner to breath)

I don't know when to join my team, or when to stay in a side lane for split pressure

If there is objective to take, hardpushing sidelane before hand is always beneficial and then roaming, if your team can win tf 5v5, joining them is good, if you feel useless in tf, just split

I don't know what to do when my team is losing and I'm winning. I don't know the best way I can help

Put out pressure as splitpusher(Trynd), setup vision and always make at least 2 ppl to come to get you, get as much resoursec from enemies(their jngle), your team can maybe turn/you will have to follow them and try to win tf/wait for carries to outscale with Rumble(I play him mid, much more roaming potential, less hard matchups)/tf oriented champs

These are just few little things that works for me, I would try to watch some guides on Youtube, there are tons of good ones.
