Gangplank Rework is a Major Success! Except for this.
I am very happy with the way Gangplank's rework really transformed him from a sub-par laner, to a champion that feels comfortable to play and is very competitively viable.
However as someone who plays a large amount of top lane there is something about his kit that is just very unfun to play against.
Cannon Barrage.
The ult does way to many things. It has an extremely wide selection of uses and there aren't any abilities that work in the way it does.
The problem i have with it is that at any given time gangplanks ultimate allows him to exert pressure on any lane with an instant cast impossible to read lane sized slow and subsequent damage.
It is really annoying to be winning top lane against a Gangplank, only to have his ult score him some gold from a different lane. And all the while he gets to exert global pressure on your team that can't be matched effectively.
What I would like to see in a future update is a more readable or limited ability.
The way I see it the ult has to major problems that make it to good of an ability.
- It is global.
- There is no way to see it coming.
I would like to see either
A shortened ultimate range, one more in line with champions who have similar abilities:IE Ziggs or Xerath
OR
A visual indicator similar to Pantheon or Ziggs showing you where the ult is going to start so it doesn't feel like it just "happens"
It would be much nicer to play against if it were changed.
Right now there are just to many things on the ult (Slow,damage,massive AOE,upgrades) for it to be both a global ability and for it to have no visual indicator telling you your lane is about to get rained on.
