Issue with the new thornmail iteration, it will be a too effective stand alone defense item

Here is the issue the cold steel passive

the other changes are beast, aint going to lie this is what we needed, the better buildpath and a bit of hp

But i would rather have the damage over the cold steel passive

Because i can already build randuins too

Now i would lose out on one of those passives which makes building both not so effective but hey that's just a minor thing

The bigger issue is that it will be too effective as that one defensive item to do it all, and it will be abused by fighters and divers. just get that alongside tabi's and that's all the armor items you need to put up an effective enough defense.

It would be better to not have the coldsteel on thorn mail, and have it retain it's old damage model instead, this incentivizes building additional armor since thornmail itself doesn't give as much anymore in favor of health.

If you also want to slow down attack speed build the appropriate items.

I think that would be the better way to do it

Right now it will have almost all the defensive tools you want in 1 item, and as added bonus a lot less synergy with other armor items

This will ultimately lead to people opting for it on champions who will want 1 armor item over most of the other choices while disincentive it for people who want more then 1 armor option.
