@Riot I see what you're doing with the reworks but it's not fair with the playerbase
I see what you did with the last big VGUs
you kept the champions godawful for what feels like seasons at a time, you had to make them WEAK before reworking them, why? It's not because of their problematic kits, we have plenty of problematic kits with decent winrates in the game.
No, you did it because when a complete VGU arrives it's like you deleted the old champion and replaced it with a new one. People like winning, if you keep champions in a terrible, terrible state, their playerbase starts fading away, until only very few are left. That way, when you introduce the reworked champion, no one misses it, everyone is hyped, there is no sense of loss, because nothing of value was lost.
It is however very unfair with the playerbase, those people who loved the champion before you decided they needed a VGU. For instance, take
he had a dedicated playerbase, not very big, but dedicated. Then, you took a 48% winrate champion and gave him a massive nerf that not only hurts his playability but also makes him feel clunky and annoying to play. That way the champion plunged to a 45% winrate, it felt weak in the hands of the players, and its playerbase is fading away. Why did you do this? Because you decided Cho needed a VGU and the best way to pave the way for one is to destroy the playerbase.
That is very unfair with the playerbase, and it shows in the way you treat some champions.
are all kept in a godawful state, why? because they are pending a VGU, and you have decided that until then, they have to be so awful that no one plays them. It's not about problematic gamestyles, hell, Cho is 100% about how much counterplay he has. It's because you're enforcing unpopularity.
