Am I getting too old to go pro in videogaming?
I'm not just talking about leauge. I'm talking about any game I want to take seriously in general. What is the threshold at which point I should just give up?
I'm 19 right now, pushing on 20 soon.

no... that's a pretty normal age for pro gaming. it's not like you see TSM Mom5MoreMinutes up there on the big stage.
I'd say no, not yet, and certainly not if you're willing to go to different games.
One thing to keep mind is that some pro games are very focused around being single, and League's one of them. In the pro scene, you're expected to move into a house with a bunch of other single dudes and live, work, and play together. That's great for a while, but there's a certain point where you want something more than that. A house of your own, a wife, or just not having roommates. At that point games like League will start to fall out of favor with you as a eSports Pro, and games like StarCraft, where you don't have teammates to room with and you can set your own schedule, will take their place.
This is of course assuming that you're good enough to make it in and can keep up with both patches and youngsters who are far more excited with the game than you are.
I think the big thing to take away from pro eSports is that very few, if any, players see themselves still being in the competitive scene after 10 years. Many of them are studying for or taking college classes in anticipation of what comes after. I think the right mentality is that professional eSports might have have more in common with the job you pick up to get through college than a career you spend the rest of your life with.
Yea, better start buying depends, old guy
not tool old till you're 30
As you get older expectations and responsibilities will inevitably increase. It is generally easier for players still in their teens to put in more time and practice as they have fewer responsibilities. I think that most of the pro players started earlier and got their foot in the door which has allowed some of them to remain even into their mid 20's.
That is just my opinion as I have completed college, have a stable job, and am looking to buy a house at the age of 23. I just don't have the time to be really good at the game.
80% winrate on ahri. that freelo champion right
Wasn't LemonNation like 27 last year? Now he's a coach and in challenger series so...No. You're not too old. IMHO, he'd still make it just fine in LCS. He probably just didn't want to do it anymore. (He retired, if I recall. Didn't get fired or anything.)
