Hi. I think people don't like the new HUD because of the size and position of where things are, so it go me thinking. Let's just have a fully customizable HUD. Everyone would be happy because they'll be able to play how they want with their information. They'll be able to make it most comfortable and who knows resizing and moving options could help me pay attention to the minimap if I make it bigger than anything else!

No one can get mad at Riot for the size and position, because it'll be their own fault if they don't like where things are at. Graphically it's spiffy but tactically it's a mess. Surrender box I can't resize! I tried. I play with my old HUD down to the minimum, sometimes I'll use the HIDE HUD toggle button just for clarity of a team fight. Double tap it once in a while to see your cool downs. What I mean to say is can we get a transparency slider too?

Thank you, Rito gods.

I heard Rito won't do this... I have yet to hear a good reason why.

This is good on paper, but would be bad in practice. Having a customizable HUD would be good because like you said people could play with a layout they wanted. However, there are really only two options that could be implemented for a customizable HUD, and both have their problems.

  1. (Least amount of problems) - Riot makes a default HUD in which each piece can be moved around (this could lead to a few visual bugs). The problem with this is that the default HUD riot makes might not work with everyone regardless of whether or not they can reposition everything. For example there are people complaining about the friendly champion icon/info being too small right now, so even if they could reposition everything they still wouldn't have the HUD they want.

  2. Riot makes it so every part of the HUD can be customized and changed by the player (Size, look, color, etc.). While this would allow people to make the HUD they want, the amount of customization options they would have to implement so everyone can be satisfied would call for a lot of what could be some pretty complex code (the more complex the code the more bugs you are likely to have). With numerous options for customization it is very likely that this would cause many visual bugs which could take quite some time to fix (complex code). And even after all of this mess there would be limitations on what you could do.

So in reality it would honestly just be a waste of time to create a customizable HUD.
