Legitimate Strategy (Tell Me Your Thoughts)

So me and a few buds did that strategy about a year ago, but figured that it would be even better nowadays.

The Strategy: ADC/Support Mid Lane ADC/Support Bot Lane Supports Take Smite Summoner Spell Top Laner is AP to account for double ADC Level 1 ADC's get buffs, Supports Tank and use HP Pots Make sure ADC gets exp for buff and 1 small minion, both players will be halfway to level 2. Depending on what side of the map you are, you pick adc's accordingly to what buffs they take. If you are Blue Side, a good team comp would look like this. Top: Vladimir Mid: Ezreal & item 3709 Braum Bot: Tristana & item 3709 Nautilus If you are Red Side, a good team comp would look like this. Top: Maokai Mid: Draven & item 3717 or item 3709 Thresh
Bot: Lucian & item 3716 Sona (Just example picks) The job for supports at level 1 is to tank the buff, smite it and let the adc take it. Then periodically after level 3 whichever one is mid should walk around clearing scuttle crabs with smite. Preferably a Thresh or Braum, since they can lower the resistances of Scuttle with CC. Which also allows for solo lane exp ADC. The mid lane support should be a roaming support. Mobi Boots Thresh or Braum or Naut or whatever. The two mid creates a lot of pressure on their solo mid laner. Also, though the enemy team has a free roaming jungler, it's very scary for him to be anywhere he can easily be caught out.

Double smite also allows more dragon control. Double supports means double sightstones, a lot of vision! Even though you lack a carry because of double supports, you actually have 2 adc's... and still AP damage from top lane and supports and even ezreal and such. The same reasons that double adc comps are good is the same for this strategy.

The two screenshotted games that are attached are games I played on my smurf. I did play some on my main but not the exact same strategy. (also I'm only allowed to attachments).

ISSUES I SEE WITH THIS STRATEGY:

Lack of 1 summoner spell (usually exhaust) creates a weaker bottom lane. Lack of actual jungler leaves counterganking a poor possibility. Supports are usually lower level than most, meaning smite is low level compared to enemy jungle (but massive vision means you'll see the steal coming from a mile away, and double smite if communicated correctly is a large burst an enemy jungle can't out-smite.).

Other than these things, I haven't seen other flaws in the strategy. Please leave constructive critisism, flaws you can think of, ideas, etc in the comments below. Add me if you are interested in trying this out! Would love to do this in ranked 5's.

Hmm, I've tried these kinda cheesy off-meta strategies before. They really rely on your enemies making huge mistakes (which is totally possible given the weird strategy). There are quite a few problems I could image. First, jungle pressure. As you mentioned, counterganking will be non-existant, and your opponents will know this. This means you NEED to win every lane to have any kind of map pressure at all. Not to mention, all your lanes will be extremely gankable due to the lack of countergank and jungle pressure. It would be very easy to fall behind on this alone. Second, buff security. It would be very hard for you to maintain control of your own buffs without a jungler. The enemy jungler would feel free to roam into your jungle every so often with the ability to escape when they see a support missing. Could he get caught out? Yes, but that would involve losing your lane pressure which is the only thing you have. (Assuming you even have that). Third, with this setup, your top lane is free to get camped.

Comes down to power spikes. Power tends to increase exponentially and not statically. Because you have two duo lanes, not only are you falling behind on experience but also significantly on power due to the exponential curve and not the static line. Therefore, if you don't win by around 30 minutes, you're going to have a rough time until about 45 minutes when everyone kinda catches up and that's assuming you do well in lane.

Now to play devils advocate I can see some benefits for mid only. Mid gets both sides warded and every gank is a 2v2. Pretty sweet.

But now when bot or top gets ganked it's almost always uneven fight, something junglers love.

Perhaps changing one of the supports to when would negate this problem but overall I find this inferior to the current meta

You're losing out on one gold and exp stream. With a dedicated jungler and solo mid laner you have two sources of income and two sources of exp that don't need to be shared. The mid laner and jungler will out level your duo mid laners as the game progresses.

interesting thought though.
