Why the Poro Rune is a Support Must

Hi Team!

I am a support main and right now I am playing a bit of Karma. The reason for this post that my current build is Sorcery and Domination and I absolutely LOVE Poro. I am not clear as to why this rune is not utilized more by supports because even at level 1 I get a free "ward" (poro) to watch for lvl 1 invades when bot is leashing for Red. AND THERE IS NO COOLDOWN!!!!!!

Moreover, in lane you then have almost permanent free vision in river and can be aggressive (which is how I play my Karma) and with 1 pink in front lane bush (bush closest to enemy tower) and 1 regular ward in the enemy river bush you have TOTAL control of vision in lane and pressure.

Moreover, the value of having a free ward ALWAYS is so great.

For Example:

       A Mid laner can ALWAYS have a side lane bush or river bush Poroed.

       A Top laner can have tri ALWAYS Poroed.

       A Jungler can ALWAYS have a Poro in jungle (theirs, enemies, or river).

I want to gauge in the community why this is not valued more in lane and as a tool for vision?

Also, please share any tips or tricks with this Rune here for those that do follow the Path of Poro!!!!

Because I hate how the little fluff ball never stays where I want him. He has such a short cast time that it's way too easy for him to jump into a bush that you don't want him in.

Poro ward is only good in early game for the reason you stated. Later on you get way more vision from zombie ward which I would always take over a safer early game.

I am not clear as to why this rune is not utilized more by supports

  • Poro Ward has a very small vision radius, almost comparable to blue trinket.

  • You're forced to NOT go into bushes, especially bot lane bush during laning phase, if you planted an important Poro ward somewhere in the enemy jungle or other exterior bushes. Otherwise, the Poro ward comes back to you. It's inconvenient & a nuisance.

  • Zombie wards are a lot better to utilize, as it helps to extend the amount of time your wards can sustain outside of bot lane, which in turn reduces the amount of time wasted from traveling/roaming the map to provide vision.

Poro is horrible on supp. In addition to the other reasons, how about the most important one.

IT GOES AWAY AS SOON AS AN ENEMY ENTERS THE BUSH.

"well, the poro just disappeared from tri...i guess the enemy jg is there...or is he....you wanna go face check the tri? Me neither. Good thing that poro is watching out for us"
