If damage got a net reduction across the board, assassin burst and tank damage could be lowered.
As an assassin, if I can't kill my target in half a second, they kill me instead in a second or two. As a tank, I can kill a squishy in a few seconds, far faster than I should be able to. And I can't tank against incoming damage either as well as I should be able to.
If damage was lowered overall, the game would be healthier. Assassins could actually have a longer time to assassinate without being useless and tanks could tank without killing as fast as they do now.
