So... Silver 4
First off, I want to thank everyone for the info they gave me. I only played 3 or so games since hearing about it, but it must've done something, as, well, I'm Silver 4! (Also this will probably be a beefy post, large text amounts inbound?)
Well with that thank you done, yes, I got to silver 4. But my first game in and I'm seeing some game losing changes. (Keep in mind I play
top, just so you know)
- I can't sit under an enemy's tower while they're under it, while they beat me up while I sit there attacking it getting the Demolish stack, then running away (Jungler Ganks)
- I can't overextend into oblivion. I can't stay alone/with laner top when they lost their turret (laning in between first and second enemy turret) safely because junglers DID INFACT learn ganking helps.
- I can't do dumb stuff like pull 3 people into me to try to 1v3 (Ok so this one never worked in the first place, but I knew I couldn't do it. Yay for me for realizing my mistakes? Regardless I can't do dumb shit)
- Peeling. I can put some reliance (relying on them) into my allies, and actually play as a team. I tried peeling for my ADC, but while my focus was keeping MY teams alive, the enemy trapped me in a Yorick W, and well that was the end of me and we lost the game because of that.
Safe to say I ruined that game, but hey, it WAS my first time facing formidable foes. Now before Silver 4, I was worrying about getting amazing CS (and like many said, it's starting to become second nature getting CS like in the image you see above. Not "give me chalenjour" worthy, but getting somewhere!) And besides focusing on JUST CSing (and beginning on trying to deny CS) I see many other things are happening. I was against a Yorick. He, to be honest, wasn't the best in laning. But he was split pushing, forcing us places so the enemy could do other things, screwing us.) Now THAT is split pushing. Maybe not GOOD split pushing but it's damn well near good in my eyes. They got objective leads, and they took the game back via. control (wow stuff is kind of clicking for me) but while asking "how to prevent split pushes and face against Yorick" is something TOTALLY different, that's matchups and team comps, kind of, I think, what I'm more concerned about is making sure this seems accurate.
Now that team could've been really good, maybe Silver 4 ISN'T like that, but if I lose again, I'm most likely headed back to S5. That's not anything awful, but I worked... a small amount?.... to get here, and I would like to try taking control in games. Now basically why I made this post is...
Are these things I experienced going to become normal? If so I can start playing around these and learn to "adapt." I feel I could do that pretty decently on my own. But will I need to start
-Questioning safety of decisions (greeding, over-extending, etc.) -Peeling and playing as a team -Map pressure/Control (Yorick splitting made opportunities for them, some they took, and well, it worked.)
And are my previous goal more/less/equally as important as the above? My previous things/goals I was working on in S5 were...
-Getting "good" cs (What you see in the image, and this is something I won't stop learning, I know it is RIDICULOUSLY important, just learning to make it second nature) -Beginning to work on denying cs and making pressure/control of the lane
Those were my only real goals. Not much, but at least I was doing something! Now to finish this off, I still want to re-ask, how accurate are the things I saw in my first Silver 4 game? Can I expect more of this? If not, do I go back to "old" goals? Should I learn this stuff anyways? And are these goals accurate? Well, thanks for reading this post, if you DID read it, and thank you for the advice that made things click and me just realize how to start getting better. Take Care!
