Flex Queue Correction Game

I was playing Flex Queue a lot last weekend and I got placed in Silver 3, then jumped to silver 1 92LP after doing so well consistently(8/2 in provisionals, ended up going 21/4) and on Friday I played my correction placement since the MMR of Flex Queue was all messed up. I won the game and got placed in Bronze 1 0LP. Now I was gold 5 in Season 6 and Silver 3 in Season 5. Why did it bump me down a full division even when I was consistently doing well against all the Plat/Diamond players thrown at me? It kinda sucks how this affects my provisional games so I am forced to play during the preseason or spend that time climbing from Bronze 2 to Gold again. I just kinda want to know why it bumped my rank down by a full division.

As all the players who been bumped down, it's simply settling everyone in where they 'belong'.

As in Diamond, Master, Challenger, don't exist for placement purposes, everyone get's stuck about 1 tier down from where they believe they are meant to be placed.

Basically, so people can climb for awhile until they reach their "peak" and then slowly progress from there. It's a faster way to distribute the system, and makes sure people who are in higher divisions don't completely stomp other players.
