Karthus in S8

I have started playing karthus recently and fell in love. I love his potential to devastate the enemy team. My question is; Do you think he is viable in S8? Solo Q or With a team? Opinions?

Still viable imo, since one being the Ultimate Hat rune synergized quite well with his high cooldown ult.

Majority of the people here stupidly thinks certain champions are viable directly when being played by pro-players in LCS/LCK/etc..

Two examples:

Vladimir after Mage Update. Everyone regarded his rework being one of the worst update since his Q is weak & limited at the same time. After he got played in pro-scenes, his pickrate skyrockted.
Miss Fortune Support. I can bet that people who played her before Worlds did it was regarded as trolls & were threatened to being reported.

Everyone is viable if you how to play. BUT Karthus is quite weak right now. His R is easly countered and there is a lot of mobility so hitting Qs is harder too. The dmg overall is quite high so he dies before he can deal enough dmg to finish with R. At the other hand master Karthus is a monster so if you enjoy playing him, go ahead

for me i started having fun with karthus in season8 due to presence of mind since when you lvl up or get a takedown your e cost you nothing to keep up for 7 seconds

Agree with everyone else, but one problem with him is that he is really mana hungry. I played him recently in JG and I actually did pretty good. Fun champion to play but there are really much better options than him in this meta.
