Basic Gameplay

I'm not a pro (not even close obviously), but I understand the basic game concept. Farming cs is far more important then farming kills. Out farming in cs/lvl leads to team kills, so there is no need to focus on farming kills. Cs gives more gold then kills. Gold = better gear. Getting objectives rocks hard. Deaths are bad. PERIOD. If you die, it better be in a team fight. Also, your team better make out ahead after a death. VISION IS OP. Upgrading trinkets at lvl 9 ( especially when the opposing team has invis champion/champions) is a must. These concepts are very simple and basic. So why is it that no one follows these concepts in low elo. What can we do as a community to fix this in low elo. This is a problem that occurs over and over again. Honestly, it isn't fair to players who understand and make a genuine effort to follow these basic concepts. Riot doesn't care beccuase it is low elo. I ask again: What can we do as a community to fix this problem? It makes the game frustrating and depressing when this occurs repeatedly.

I think a lot of players just play this like a first-person shooter. Kill kill kill kill. its about objectives and playing the map, not fighting 24/7. I hear ya man. You just gotta keep trying

I read something about human psychology. Apparently, humans really suck ass at evaluating long term vs short term benefits.

For example, let's say we meet one day and I offer you $10, no strings attached, but if you wait for one month, I will give you $20 dollars instead.

Now on paper this looks like an easy deal. Wait a little while more and get more money for similar effort...but most people would simply take the $10 upfront. Why? Short term benefit. The long term deal looks unreliable and the delay period to the reward does not light up the happy parts of your brain, so for some odd reason, people who don't think about the offer heavily will not take the more prosperous option.

Apply this to League. Get a kill, get plenty of gold upfront, the happy parts of your brain flare up in excitement over the kill. Compare this to CS, small and kind of unappreciable amounts of gold at a time, and the action is so monotonous that you'd be bored of it if it was the only thing you're doing.

Given that we're talking about low elo players here, which action do you think these people who are probably not taking the game seriously on a mental level are going to take?

It's actually not that cs > kills, just that kills are harder to chase down that they're usually impractical. Make no mistake, kills are a valid source of income if you can reliably get them. As well as being the best way to set someone else behind. But they're not usually what you play around - kills come as a result of fighting over farmable gold sources and objectives, not going chasing after kills for their own sake.

"This is how you should play" mentalities are a bad idea in general.
