Smiting Practice?

I've started taking a baron in a few games that I've played only to have the other team pressurize us and eventually steal it (I'm the jungle and I should be smiting it). I've found that the enemy stealing a baron sometimes means instant loss. How can I practice smiting under the pressure of the enemy team?

Just gotta get the timing right man, perdonally i just check my smite dmg and compare to the other jg (scales with level) and if theirs is higher i focus on zoning them off baron or cc’ng them when it gets to smite time, if you can try to tell your team to burst it at the end, meaning you guve them less of a window to steal it. Actually as a jungle main I have found a great app that helped me get better at smiting go to app store or google play and write Smiterino, it has a ton of replays in which you can practice baron and dragon stealing, try it, it is free and it really helps

In uncoordinated settings it can just be a 50/50 if you cant get your whole team to time some burst. A basic tip is to always save your burst damage until right as you smite.

That being said, start by looking at the damage of your smite. Depending on your reflexes, decide a health value slightly greater than your smite damage at which to smite the objective.

For example, if your smite does 800 you can decide to wait for 900 before smiting. Your reflex time might be such that in the time it takes for you to recognize the health threshold has been met and for you to push the button, the objective will be in smite range.

Naturally this has the risk that you might be faster than your team's damage, but smite timings really come down reflexes and damage instinct.

You can try to start being more aggressive towards the enemy jungler in his own jungle, and try to purposely get into smite fights with him over jungle camps. Blue buff, red buff, crabs, herald, etc.

Less impactful objectives.

In the first half of taking dragon/baron, look above your spells and you will see an icon for smite with a number on it. That number varies between 390 and 1000 based on level. You need to know what it is, and right after the objective's HP falls to that level, use smite as soon as possible.
