On Gunblade
Alright, so I doubt anybody's first reaction to the prominence of gunblade Ahri and Leblanc was "Okay, that seems right." DFG was removed for a reason. It was either really bad, or so powerful it was necessary on burst mages. If we just straight up nerf gunblade though, we're gonna hurt champs like Kayle, Corki, Jax, and Mordekaiser who actually should be using it. We'd also hurt champs that sometimes opt for it like Teemo. So, if we don't want to nerf gunblade for those champs, but want to not have it messing with the balance of burst mages, I think I've got a very strong direction for doing so;
Change the active to be dependant on auto attacks.
It could works like silver bolts or hyper. This would make it into an on-hit variant. Could be like that with a cooldown, like Thunderlords. This would let it work outside of AS heavy builds. Could be that after so many autos you have the option to point and click as it does now, along the lines of Tahm Kench stacking then devouring.
I think any of these options would allow for a healthier gameplay pattern even with the intended users, would keep it out of the hands of burst casters, and would probably even mean the numbers on the active, stats, or price could be improved to better suit intended users. It would also greatly differentiate gunblade from the other hextech items in a way that reflects the stats on it. I think this is especially beneficial to the game and balance of burst casters when considering why spellvamp was removed in the first place.
I'm not too worried about the specifics, but I'm confident tying the burst ability on gunblade to autoattacks would improve gunblade in terms of its affect on overall game health.
