How to counter Leblanc thread! (Actual info here, no rage or complaints)
Alright so, to start off, this is coming from someone who frequently plays and plays against Leblanc. I kind of make one of these threads every time a champion I play shows up on the radar of newly 'OP' champs, so here goes.
First off, in draft pick if you see a Leblanc, here's a list of champions that will shit on her in lane for various reasons that I'll explain throughout the thread:
Innate sustain, good at pushing lanes, can interrupt dashes with her E, heaps of mobility to dodge dashes and skillshots.
Dunno how this works after her recent nerfs, but you used to be able to keep up with her mobility despite your lack of mobility by pushing her out of the lane, building AP tanky (roa, abyssal, etc), and marking the original with her chill ability so you can tell which is real and which isn't. This one isn't the easiest match up, and requires quite a few health pots, but a skilled anivia should easily deal with a skilled leblanc.
The Assassin Destroyer. Innately tanky with her E, can interrupt LB's W, disgusting in teamfights, and a very easy champion to get used to.
Outranges, can stop lvl 6 all ins completely with his ult.
Can disrupt W, strong poke, ult that can abuse LB's passive, Brand's passive reveals which is real.
Mobile as all hell. Still not an easy match up, but if you can dodge Lb's spells it's no contest.
Silence, knockup, innate sustain and tankiness. Easy peasy.
Heavy cc, innate sustain, innate tankiness. Easy peasy.
Slight mobility and tankiness with E, innate sustain, massive poke, difficult to engage on.
Another assassin destroyer. Heavy poke, innate tankiness with shield and ult, difficult to engage on.
Survives early, wins late.
Time the ult with Lb's combo, easy peasy.
Outranges, outdamages, outpushes, and can interrupt her damage.
Fast reactions can have you disrupting W with E. Roams harder, wins trades easily if she can disrupt W.
Innate tankiness, easy as hell to lane with, destroys teamfights.
Heavily outscales. Whenever LB gets close enough to all in, Ryze can cast full combo. Innate sustain and can afford to build tanky.
Outranges and can disrupt W.
Mobility out the ass and a windwall for three of Lb's spells.
Mobility out the ass and can use ult to dodge any spell.
Free stuns and damage every time LB goes in, bring plenty of health pots and you should be fine.
Black shield, endless snare, wave clear, the third assassin destroyer.
Alright so there are the champions that play well against LB (if you're good at them) now we're going to talk about strategies that beat her. Ganking her is more or less useless, if you can manage to get one in during the short window where she doesn't have W, more power to ya, but most likely you won't. That means the lane is completely up to you as the mid laner to win or lose.
Step one: Bring a lot of health pots. LB has no innate sustain and her mana costs aren't the lowest. Punish her trades by sustaining through them.
Step two: Dodge or disrupt the W. Most Leblancs max W because it gives them a lot of burst, lower cooldown on their engage/escape. and wave clear. Her W is considered a Dash for the initial part and a blink for the second part. That means the first part can be disrupted with stuns, knock ups, charms, and knock backs. If you manage to disrupt it, the damage won't go through and she'll lose a large chunk of burst.
Step three: Abuse her cooldowns. Her W's cooldown is 18-10 seconds depending on level, losing 2 seconds per level up. That's a lot of time early on you could be doing whatever you want to her and there's nothing she can do back to you.
Step four: Hexdrinker and banshees veil. Hexdrinker shits on AP assassins and Bveil interrupts her all in. Easy peasy. Roa is also a nice tanky option for AP.
Step 5: Push the lane in, then roam. Pushing the lane in ensures she uses W to farm which means she can't use it on you, and also makes her roams more punishing to her considering she'll quickly lose tower, levels, and gold if she roams while you push. Following her isn't the best idea despite your teammates' wailing. Following an assassin into unwarded territory just isn't a good plan. If you're pushed to her tower, gank a lane, if not, stay in lane.
Step 6: As with any assassin, wards are more helpful than usual. If you can see them coming, nine times outta ten you can avoid dying.
Misc tips: Flash has a lower range than the chains, so if flash is your only way of getting out of her E, don't bother. Chains are blocked by minions, stay behind them for a higher chance of living. Complaining about Leblanc only fuels her desire to kill you.
That's all I've got to say, hopefully you learned something today. And remember, it's always better to actively look for ways to beat a champion than to mindlessly complain about the champion until they get nerfed.
