So its been officially announced that at the end of Season 9, Riot will be removing the Twisted Treeline from League.

Now, I know that many League players don't play the Twisted Treeline. And most people on the boards don't either. But Twisted Treeline has a VERY dedicated small playerbase, most of whom only play this game mode and nothing else, which is quickly apparent if you play the mode. I've always been a big fan of this mode, the aesthetics are something you can't find anywhere else in League, and the 3v3 experience makes for a more peaceful, while also fast paced mode.

With enough attention brought to this, the boards can help save the Twisted Treeline. Many people may say, "why would I bother when i've never played or enjoyed this mode?" Well the Twisted Treeline used to be a much more loved and popular map before it was reworked back in 2012. Even if the current iteration of the Twisted Treeline is removed, we could convince Riot to bring back a 3v3 experience more akin to the original map, which many people cherished.

Speaking for all the people who play the current Twisted Treeline, and the playerbase who was around for the original, please help us save this map, whether that means updating the current map to be up to date with the rest of the game, or bringing back something similar to the old map that was revamped in 2012.

Thanks for your time reading this. I don't post on the boards often, even though I like to read the threads here everyday. But this really made me want to do something, and i'd love the support of all the League player base, whether you're a Twisted fan, or a fan of League in general <3

It's so sad because 3v3 actually has a LOT of potential. Certain champions that never see the light of day on Summoner's Rift are actually very strong here, more of an ability to solo carry, due to having fewer team mates, and jungling being a lot easier, so you don't have to absolutely dread getting autofilled to a role you hate, but since Riot has completely ignored the mode for years, they decide that instead of putting in the work to improve it, they'll just retire it.

nahhhh People love to hate this map because "LOL funneh youtuber said it's shi*". ever since i discovered 3v3 i never returned to 5v5. it was more fun and you mattered in every game. "Long queue times" in EUW you can find a match every 20-10 seconds, and i never played with the same guys i played last game with. Riot is simply removing the mode because the Chinamen at Tencent dont appreciate "Waste of space"

they havent touched the gamemode AT ALL and then say "we have to delete it because noone goes on it" well yeah maybe thats because you literally abandoned tit they even have been balancing aram but literally nothing to TT and they wonder why noone plays"

I use it for my FWotD, and I play it a lot during events for missions. And early this season when I couldn't tolerate SR, I played a lot of TT.

The thing is... it costs practically nothing for them to leave it up. The playerbase for TT may be smaller than the other maps, but it's still a lot bigger than many games from other companies that are considered successful. It's A LOT of people playing TT, even if it's less than ARAM etc...

I LIKE TT BECAUSE it is old. I build Face of the Mountain every game. A nostalgic game mode.

This is their answer to us begging them every week to balance it. "We're taking it away. Now you happy?"

At least try. We love TT. Don’t give up with it. Sometimes I just want to play a shorter game with a champ I selected (not like ARAM) and this small map can give me this. TFT is nice but I don’t want to be forced into SR or a mode where I don’t really play a champion, just add him to the board. I love the dark theme map and with some micro adjustments things can change. Just don’t remove it. Please.

Why am I not surprised? First they take Dominion from me, now they're taking TT. Assuming they don't replace it with Ascension, I'll no longer have a reason to play this game with it gone.

Those lazy bastards at Riot games. Instead of fixing the problems of this mode they just delete it. Same happened with Dominion. This must not happen to TT as well because that is all we have left from early League days.

I'm upset and angry over Riot's decision to remove TT when they refuse to properly give it TLC just like they failed to give Dominion TLC. I've played both modes allot and I've also played the FGMs as well, and it seriously feels like Riot is saying "It's not SR so scrap it!", which is really annoying honestly. Aside from just playing the mode and begging Riot to keep it and actually update it rather than shove SR down our throats all we can do is hope and pray that they change their mind, even though I know full well that it's highly unlikely they will.

Reddit Thread says removed 3 minutes ago. Shame. I don't play the mode but I'm upvoting for the support. There used to be lots of modes, maps, gamemodes, now it's SR or ARAM.

Whats super insulting is them acting like they supported the game mode when the only thing they did was dump a bunch of old mechanics from dominion into 3v3 and call it good, when what they needed to do was update that old map to new standards and maybe make the mode 4v4 to prevent the rock paper scissors that happened in the old mode so it could allow for a slightly larger center jungle with a solo lane and duo lane.

I wish that TT wasn't getting removed, I thought the map visual update is so damn cool. I want to learn how to play 3v3 better but I'm still learning 5v5 lol I do like to switch it up with TT sometimes and it was always a nice change of pace. I feel like it actually has a lot of potential.

This is absurd. Why would they get rid of a mode just because it only brings joy to a few thousand people? I don't mind waiting an extra 20-30 sec in order to keep tt around in ques. Everybody needs everything in 2 sec or less. I have no issue waiting 2-3 minutes for 20-45 min of entertainment.

On the few occasions i've played Twisted Treeline i've met the dedicated playerbase: twice as many bots as actual humans.

Twisted treeline was my favorite game type.

It was highly competitive, yet low stakes. TT was a place where I and two of my friends could go when we needed a break from SR, but didn't want to feel like we were throwing our time away in ARAM. You had no chance of getting paired with a random troll because of this small team dynamic. And in the absence of that external pressure (because no one REALLY cares about their TT rank), we have pulled off some of the craziest and most memorable plays of our careers. I get that it was not making the company money, but the community that DOES play TT would pay to play it again, I can guarantee it. Don't just throw away the hard work and time that went into this map that many people love.

I don't give two flying rats asses about twisted treeline -- but I do have an interest in this topic. Why?

Bots.

Where do the bots go when TT is gone? Co-op vs AI? ARAM? SR? I don't wanna deal with bots in these queues. Nobody does.

In my opinion Riot has 2 options: 1.) FINALLY address the elephant in the room that is account creation. Stop users from creating as many accounts as they damn well please. This solves SO MANY problems. Smurfing. Toxicity. Account sales. Botting. The list goes on. Literally nothing good comes from people being able to create new accounts whenever they want just by going and making some stupid fake email address on gmail that they use literally only for making a LOL account. Its a stupid, botched, failing system that's just being exploited to hell.

2.) Leave TT as a game mode and let it be a bot-infested cesspool, accepting the fact that you don't have an answer for the account creation problem. At least then the problem is contained to a game mode nobody plays. (Except the like... 1000 people that gripe about it on these boards. Less than a percent of a percent of playerbase.)
