Struggling to get Hextech Chests?

DISCLAIMER: This should only be done in normals and in featured game modes. Doing this in ranked will get you trolled and flamed, and if it doesnt work well you could cost somebody their series. Play with caution. The following is also not a 100% get loot for free trick, only a trick to make it easier to obtain loot. You cant go 0-30-3 and expect for it to work. You still need to put forth the effort in game.

If you are struggling to get loot from Hextech crafting, try playing something in an off meta role. You are only compared to other players who played that same champion and played them at the same role. Something like Aatrox support, Brand Jungle, Kindred mid, etc. Chances are that nobody is playing those champions at the role you are, and the ones who have were more than likely trolling because they didn't get the role they wanted. I got 2 by doing this, 1 as Rek'Sai mid, the other as AP Shyvana mid. As you can see in the link I posted, I would not have gotten a S rank had I been playing Shyvana Jungle or Top (although her top lane playrate is pretty low too). The only reason I got it was because I had a semi-decent game going off meta. Just as long as you play good enough you have a significantly increased chance to get that S rank and the chest. So go out and try it. Try something new that you think might have some promise. You might just get that S rank and maybe will even find some kind of cheese pick that nobody else has discovered yet :)
