My mmr does not match up with my division >_<

Recently, I finished my ranked provisional. Thing is, I got placed in a higher mmr than what I am comfortable in, and its really showing on my match history.

My games right now tend to be a gamble of whether I get carried, or my team doesn't do well and I fall over too. Its rather daunting playing against people a league above me, and while I do get rewarded for it well when pulled off( I had obtained 30 lp for a win, while only losing 29 lp for 2 loses in a row). Trouble is, its not fun having to rely on teammates to carry, and I imagine its not fun having to play with a guy you know cant carry on the team. '

While I have tried to ease the burden of having to carry me by playing only support and shen, it still kind of sucks knowing that I am against a opponent much better, and it does stress me out occasionally.

If possible, I would like some advice on what to do in my ranked games as well as what champs might possibly work.

Thanks for reading, Aftermidnight12

A general tip would be to just play normals and improve. Ranked honestly puts too much of a stressful burden on a person to produce any sort of meanginful improvement over time. So just chill in normals, play with friends that aren't the kind that troll around, and learn.

Of course, you could always jsut lose a bunch of ranked games until you drop to your true elo, but that honestly is too much hassle. And it won't make you feel any better.

i think you're not giving yourself enough credit

you made it to silver 2 right out of provisionals. congrats!

if riot thinks you don't belong in that league, or that you're not at the same skill level as everyone else, you will lose a ton of lp for your losses. the ranked system is designed to put you in where you belong. so whether or not you believe it, riot has decided that you belong in silver 2. that's pretty decent right out of provisionals.

don't be so stressed about it, if you need to drop down, you will. until then, if you're really getting your ass kicked that bad, just play some normals and improve until the new season starts and ranked resets.

silver 2 really isn't a bad place to be though. i'm sure you deserved it.

It is good that you recognize that you are bad. That is the first step of your improvement. The next step is to proactively become less bad through practicing mechanics, narrowing down your champion pool and learning strategy. The best way to learn strategy appropriate to your division (which I guess is silver) is not by watching only pros and diamonds, but by watching golds and plats make decisions in their games and think - why did he do that? what were the brilliant plays and what were the horrible mistakes? Or was it just mediocre plays all around? etc.

Provisionals seem to place people higher if its their first time doing them. Ik when i 1st did them i got b1 ( was right after i hit 30 and i had no clue what i was doing) and i slowly dropped to about b4. You just gatta keep playing and trying your best and you will end up where you are suppose to be. (note- i made it to g5 anything is possible don't give up)
