Recently there has been talk (again) about a "Mercy" system

Rioter's on the boards already seem to have shot down this idea. I have seen many mercy posts but have never seen a rioter actually answer, thank you for that.

Proposal

So why not make it so the one who AFK'd or "intentionally fed" lose double lp. So if the player in question is actually verified by the system as "Leaver" or "feeder" would be given message (like leaver buster) that informs them that "due to your recent actions in a game you have reduced by X amount (mirror of lp lost) of lp" and should be considered as a double loss. At the same time the team members of the player who is punished should get a message that says "a recent player who has caused you difficulties in game has been punished" and have 3 lp tied to it, a small bandage to the loss. This system would not affect 4v5's that are won and I think couldn't really be abused.

I would assume that the "Mercy" system would only affect ranked and could cause more problems in it, so a different form of system has to be in place. Also since AFK's and Feeders arent too uncommon (for me maybe 1 in 10 games) I would be getting a very satisfying message from time to time to ease some of the emotions brought upon by these occasional players.
