Ranked: How to Climb without hating League.

Now, I've played League of Legends since Season 1. For the most part, I had avoided ranked as much as possible until season 4 simply because I hate queueing alone and dealing with the trolls was just never fun for me. Climbing was slow as I was still trying to find my niche on the Rift, so I just got bored fast and hated playing Ranked.

Recently, however, I've found that the best way to climb is to play with friends and HAVE FUN. Dynamic Queue makes this perfect. The only requirement is to not take the game so seriously. (Previously believed to be one of the biggest mistakes in ranked.) I find my friends and I played our best when we were playing together and having fun. When we were taking the game seriously, we had zero fun and we were more prone to making mistakes and then tilting ourselves. It was the exact opposite when we were all goofing around. Even the random players we had started to goof around with us and we all played a little better. We shook off mistakes easier and made jokes out of them.

We started to climb quickly. Stomping through our ranked games with ease and clearing promos first try. We all went from Silver and Bronze to Gold and Silver and I even played on my main account with them (This one) and brought it to gold as well. Having a clear, joyful mind made us better players as a whole and dynamic queue had a lot to do with that by allowing us to bring a positive group mentality to a normally annoying and stressful environment.

**TL;DR **- Have fun. Play with friends. Stop being so serious.

THANK YOU. I SMASHED THE FUCKIN UPVOTE.

People in ranked always rag on me for playing unconventional champions when I play. I do it to have fun. It's a video game. If you're not having fun you shouldn't play it.

Dont play ranked if you arent playing competitively. Period.

Ranked is suppose to be serious though. It's suppose to be competitive. What's the point of ranked existing if it's not serious? Riot should just remove all other Q then.

Well said. I haven't been playing long and am still just a bronze lvl player. I make mistakes and am still learning. I have noticed though the games where everyone is having fun and not taking it too seriously mostly end with my team winning. If we do lose it is a very close loss.

Most of the losses I have had were when teammates took it too seriously and made a big deal over one mistake. After that most of the team was too busy pointing fingers and not really playing the game.

I am just glad there are players out there that realize at the end of it all it is supposed to be about having fun.

While not taking things seriously will stop you from getting into a fight with somebody and causing them to rage out and throw the game, it's not actually going to help you improve. And to be honest, from my experience, it sounds like some people might be confusing cause and effect. If your problem in previous games were "trolls" and you're now playing in premades, chances are the "trolls" are in your premade and you no longer care because they're your friends. And it sounds like one or two people might be confusing winning because of having fun with having fun because of winning.

Trying to have fun is indeed a good thing, but you should take ranked as seriously as possible. The very fact that you would suggest not taking ranked so seriously and praising dynamic queue together kind of validates a lot of the backlash that dynamic queue isn't as competitive as solo queue.

But as for the topic, I can tell you how to climb the ladder with less rage. Treat your solo games as tryouts for finding ranked partners. If you find somebody who carries you out of the fires of hell, praise them and add them at end game. If you find somebody who single handedly destroys your team and wins the game for the enemy, DO NOT get angry at them. Praise them and add them at end game. By treating solo matches as tryouts and befriending people who can destroy the competition, you can then later queue with them and take advantage of all the benefits as a premade with an increased chance of winning.
