Evelynns In-Stealth Audio Low-Pass Filter has Clarity Issues
Preface: This is a a discussion not a rant.
The in-camouflage audio and visual cues are way overboard to the point of actually negatively impacting clarity in the game. My biggest gripe with clarity is the low-pass filter on the game's audio when Evelynn is camouflaged, particularly allied and enemy abilities. It makes it very difficult to discern important abilities (like did someone just flash? Is my Ryze ulting? Is Galio ulting? Do I need to dodge an incoming Jayce shockwave?) on top of the already dimmed visual stealth glow. I use audio cues as critical feedback to my in-game decision making and the low-pass filter severely decreases the differentiability in specific sounds.
I implore Riot to consider removing it or providing an option to disable it, or at least comment with some thoughts regarding the subject.
The visual in-camouflage glow is something I initially had trouble with but slowly got used to. I think it certainly has clarity issues BUT that may be intentional on Riot's part because of how advantageous stealth is in the game in the first place. If the intention of camouflage glow is to make it harder for the player to understand what's going on in the game as a method of balancing stealth, then that's fine. Otherwise if the sole purpose is to illustrate to the player that they are camouflaged, then the circle around your champion is more than enough.
