Lee Sin, The blind Monk himself
Hello, dear Riot, lovely community
I’ve had recently some ideas on the champions in League that desperately need some good rework, because their kit is sometimes impossible to balance, and aswell I’ve noticed that You have already noticed this idea that I want to show, so… shall we?
My idea was to rework Lee Sins kit to make him possibly the most intriguing champion in the League. No worries, dear Lee Sin players, I really adore this champion aswell, although I don’t play him for a reason: he just doesn’t feel like the most powerfull Ranged Melee Tanky DPS Assassin Mage Tank Support Jungler. You know why? Because he was supposed to be the BLIND Monk: Ranged Melee Tanky DPS Assassin Mage Tank Support Jungler. And, sorry, he just doesn’t feel blind at all!
Rek’sai feels blind… sometimes, but Lee Sin? Oh no, he can see even better than others! And I have amazing idea how to make the enjoyment of playing Lee Sin as amazing, as it should be, without throwing away his amazing skills.
First of all, his passive. It has to include something that goes with his blindness, like really? A monk that decided to be the good one has to be only damage oriented? What I mean, is that every single of his skills has to be somewhat connected to the fact, that he’s The Blind Monk himself! The way Lee Sin perceives world only by sound should be changed, to make him reaaly enjoyable. To show that every skill makes him do something else.
But I’m going too far out, first of all, the view should be increased by a lot when alone, by a lot, I mean A LOT. Not going with the numbers, but wait. It also wouldn’t be the overview of world, it would be more like expression, the waves of sound, how they react with the stuff around. It would be maybe somewhat a hard task for programists, but they are really good, what they are showing with every new champion and skin, so there isn’t any problem.
It would be triggered only if he would stop in some crucial points, where all the sound from around is comming, for example the river (possible interaction with the Crabby himself?), or near the baron or dragon pit, the places like monster pits, you know, the wispers of spirits, or something, he’s the monk, The Blind Monk.
The passive then would interact with his abilities aswell.
Q: Still the same, but new in a way. Lee sin charges for half a second, and then releases a blast of air that spreads in a cone pointed ahead of him, knocking all the enemies back for a bit. Then he can dash to anyone struck damaging him, and then he can decide to retreat to the point where he started if he has strucked the enemy on earth at least two times, and dashed back fast (let’s say from 1 sec on first level to 3 on max level). It may be good in the early game, but it would allow the enemies that stay behind the minions to react, and in the late game it wouldn’t be an easy task to poke enemies in such way.
Oh, an important one: during the casting of this skill his vision is reduced only to the cone that the strike would cover :]
In fact, every time when he processes on the usage of one skill he has redused vision range.
W: Gotta shield ya’ That one is tricky, cause it turned out that Lee Sin with this skill became the most mobile Blind Monk in the history, hah, in the whole Galaxy!
So… now he will still be dashing to allies, but it will also have reduced range, only if the ally is struck heavily the dash range will increase (based on %missing health) and the shield will then be more resistant. He will still be able to dash towards minions, without this effect though, and to the wards, without any big changes in range.
E: Yeah, I loved this skill back when I first saw Lee. It would be the element of anger in Lee Sins kit. When he uses this skill, he gets a bonus AA damage and bonus MS, though reducing his MR, and gaining a new active on E: he can use it three times with some space in between and using the last one turnes off the buff on AA. The strikes deal slight amount of damage and add slow to the enemies, increasing with every next strike and refilling the duration time (max 2 sec).
R: The same, it’s perfect.
The way how his vision would be reduced during combat, but increasing a lot when staying out of allies and enemies and just enjoying peace would make out of him the person that has to decide between peace and war (like maybe changing his lore a bit to make him an important person that has to decide between difficult tasks because of the situation in Ionia?).
All right, thanks for reading, hope I gave you some ideas, bye bye.
PS: Sorry if I made any mistakes, from Poland.
