3% bonus damage is pretty bad in my opinion, let's say a combo deals 2000 damage, then 3% would be 60 bonus damage, pathetic. I highly doubt it would make a difference, or that it even matters, I feel like Meditation is the way to go on anyone, except if you don't have mana as a resource. What do you think about this mastery?
you could say the same about several other masteries. it's all the little things put together.
All mastery's are like this. They arent suppose to be huge, but all those fights where you see someone get away with just 20 hp or so, something like this could have made a difference. If you need the mana take the mana, but not many champs struggle for mana atm.
Not completely useless, it's usually good on champions who are pretty bursty to get that little extra damage in.
for which champ? combined with what masteries?
lets say you run sorcery which gives you 2% bonus damage on spells, with double edge sword for +3% damage then you take assassin which is +2% damage to isolated target +3% damage to target under 40% hp
all these lil % add up to +10% damage and typically you are running these type of masteries for assassins and or burst damage champs so if your combo does 2000 damage thats an extra 200 damage for free as an assassin or burst champ your whole gold is to blow up the target as fast as possible instead of extended fights where you need more cdr to have more then 1 rotation of spells, plus most of these champs already have lower cooldowns on their abilities any ways
As someone who has done the numbers on burst combos for a lot of champions, I can say you would be surprised at how often that damage can turn a near kill into a kill. Don't get me wrong I don't think it is worth it on every champion, but that damage is very much relevant.
