Gunblade on Nidalee, questions

40 AD 80 AP 20% spell vamp

i'd say nid is like the most hybrid champ in the game, she's a jack of all trades. she has a strong heal, vision and zoning provided with traps, long range super strong poke, ability to duel if you proc the hunted, i could go on and might later. her only form of real damage in human form is her spear and auto attacks, although every single nid i see play basically builds her pure AP and it doesn't make sense to me.

if you miss a spear you're basically useless cuz good luck trying to proc hunted with a trap while someone's running from you. gunblade also syngerizes extremely well with her AS boost on her heal. the active is also extremely nice and the passive also synergizes as well with the AS. the spell vamp is also pretty nice, especially gettin the full vamp from a targeted low health hunted target.

so what gives? anyone else do this? since the top AP items are 100 now, the loss of 20 AP is well worth the 40 AD i get from gunblade w/ the other pros. what do you guys think?
