Personal opinion on why ranked league are not what they used to be

Here's a simple, yet very frustrating, explanation on why I am always matched against higher ranks.

The higher you get in terms of ranks, the less people there is. If you are over gold III, which isn't that hard to reach, it's less than 30% of all players playing league of legends. It should mean longer queues, but is it really happening? No!

Since 2016, the ''Queues timer rework'', in order to reduce the wait for higher elos, Rito decided to match those higher players with lower players so that the waiting queue time wouldn't take 10-15 mins (talking about high plats/ high diamond mostly).

The problem is, you probably have a gigantic MMR for your current rank, so the system targets your account to match with those higher ranks and reduce their waiting time. It's very unfair for you, because you can't climb the ladder as fast as those higher ranked players since it's not equal in terms of ranks.

You have the same skills, same game knowledge and understanding than those higher ranks, but you cannot reach their ranks since your MMR is to high for your rank.

This is what we used to call elo hell pre-2016, but Rito made it worst with their ''queues timer rework''.

Personally, I've brought 3 accounts to plat, 2 to gold II, but I just can't reach past silver II my friend's account (yes a bit of smurfing doesn't kill anyone). Every fucking time I'm in promo (and I'm talking about solo queue league), I get matched with gold II and up, even platinum players, because they are my skill levels. I can't get this account to gold because Riot targets this one account and judges it's a plat-skill level, which is fine, but shouldn't be matched with platinum players because it's a silver account. So it's quasi-impossible to reach gold for me on this account, nor my friend even though he plays on it a lot more.

You are stuck in elo hell the day you finished your promos and Rito placed you in lower rank hoping to make you ''work'' for you highest ranks.

Riot really created the Elo hell in 2016, which wasn't so important back then because they had just released team ranked queue. But now, nobody plays them anymore unless they're high or drunk especially the matchmaking is a shithole (I've seen tons of diamond players going against bronze in ranked team... How is that fair? Only to get those 2% diamond players a shorter queue Rito decides to ruin a game experience for at least 7 other players?...).

This is why I don't play rank anymore, I don't care of not getting a shitty skin at the end of the season. I don't feel it is worth my time anymore. I would say : ''hey create a new account so restart over so maybe I can leave elo hell'', but this doesn't work anymore. It's either you buy a ranked account, or take a long pause of ranked leagues or quit the game for a while. That's my personal decision : I shall not play until Harrowing (doom bots because this one and guardian events are the only real funny and enjoyable mods).
