Can we change thresh?

I am incredibly tired of seeing the same supports over and over in the bot lane. Specifically, I am tired of seeing thresh in nearly every game I play. I put fourth the argument that he is too consistent, too safe. Overall, Thresh's kit feels overloaded and he has dominated the bottom lane support scene since his release. I believe he could use some minor changes to make his strength's more in line with other supports. I suggest that he would be just fine if we reduced the base damage on his abilities, reduce his attack range, and increase the mana cost on his Q. This would result in his aggression being more easily punished, through higher mana costs, and his lane pressure reduced by making his poke have more risk. Just to clarify, this is not intended to be a "Thresh is OP" thread. I would like to see more variety in the bot lane, and I feel that the current state of thresh is making the lane feel stale. Thoughts or suggestions?
