How did you get better at this game, specifically in ranked solo que?

Watching comedic videos of LoL then looking slowly into the more competitive/pro scene of the game and listening to commentary, players thoughts on mechanics and items. Read a lot of TSM's website guides on champions I liked. Practice, practice, practice!

Pay attention to common mistakes made by your enemies and allies and try your best not to make the same ones. Pay attention to your minimap, and have a general idea of where the enemy jungler is at all times.

By playing the same champ over and over and learning what I can do, when I can do it and why

Played with a higher teir then I was at. I played with plat+ friends for most of S5, when I finally started ranked again, I went from G5 to plat 5 in under 100 games.

By playing a lot. Trying out new things. Watching streams. Watching your own replays is actually VERY helpful the first times you do it. You see some mistakes you wouldn't see otherwise.

Abuse what's strong in the meta, watch streams, have a large champ pool that can fit comps. Game is becoming more and more about teamwork, not solo stomping, so having a large champ pool to fit into your team can help in champ select a lot.

I played the game. Accepting the fact that i'm bad and not a god at the game that is stuck because "team mates holding me back gg". Then I chose a champ I didn't mind playing or maining, watched Irelia Carries U and got the gist of it. Pretty easy afterwards. There is more to the game though than being good at a champ.

Sure you may know the basic knowledge of the game, but are you incorporating them in the game? There isn't one single thing that you could possibly carry over every game. You need to be able to adapt to each of them.

Do you know what you're building? DO you know why a certain item works for a champ?

I spammed champs and watched high elos play that champ.

Noone ever actualy "improves" they just get varying degrees of teammates.

A change of mindset.

Instead of blaming my loss on teammates, broken OP champions, and lag or whatever, I decided to take responsibility for everything. Instead, I focused on what I MYSELF could have done during that loss, what I could have done to beat those champions, etc.

Spam play ranked a lot and always staying mellow during it. If frustration/rage/tilt begins to be a thing, do normals instead. I'm always really critical of myself if I ever die for any reason, since 99% of the time it was my fault. e.g. sure maybe a teammate should have helped ward wherever, but since they didn't I should have known better than venture out into the darkness without vision.

If you can figure out why you died, then you can try to avoid doing that in future games. An extremely common source of death is greed, so avoiding that works wonders. Yes that low health target running away is tempting to chase, but many times chasing leads to being jumped by a jg/roaming laner and negates whatever advantage you may have gotten by winning the fight. Sticking around when low health for an extra few cs is tempting, but those extra few seconds could be enough time for the enemy jg to show up. Etc.

Thanks for the responses, what roles do you think is the best to have the most impact throughout the game?
