Bronze problems

Bronze is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to ranked games and with the bottom of the barrel comes a list of unique problems that don't often crop up in higher ranks. This is a bit of a rant. Some of these things can't be fixed, some might be fixable. That is not what this is about though.

1.) Diversified Player Pool: Bronze is probably the most diverse player pool in all rankings because there are literally 0 requirements to get into bronze. This means that all are welcome but everyone wants to get the hell out of here. You have players who have just reached level 30. You have players that bought level 30 accounts. You have feeders, trolls, and afk's. You have the occasional Gold or higher smurf (who might just be helping their friend climb). You have Challenger smurfs who start at bronze just to prove to everyone that climbing ranks is easy. There is no telling who you are going to be paired with or paired against. This person just bought Riven and has yet to play a single game with her? You have no clue, and even if you did you have no way of actually stopping it.

2.) Shoddy Equipment: At the highest ranks of any competitive game the player base is likely to posses high end gaming PC's. The exact opposite is true for the bottom of the ranks. I can't count how many times I have had a teammate lag, have their computer crash, mouse break, or just other forms of technical difficulties to prevent them from performing as well as they could (mostly lag though).

3.) Lack of Commitment or Seriousness: If you are a gold or higher ranked player then you are likely to take your ranked games more seriously because you have something to fight for: Your rank, something you have already fought to achieve and if you lose it will have to fight to achieve again. Bronze is not fought for however, it's actually fought AGAINST and because of this some players take ranked games as a normal game and thus an excuse to do whatever the hell they want. It is true that in such a low elo that a highly skilled player will be able to outplay nearly any champion WITH any champion? Yes. This is not an excuse to go AD Soraka top with ignite and ghost however. Can a highly skilled player make this work in bronze? Probably. Are you a highly skilled player though? Not likely, if you were you wouldn't have been placed in bronze. While on the topic let me also state the following rules:

If you are sleep deprived, stay out of my ranked games if you really need to go to the bathroom, stay out of my ranked games (until this problem is resolved) if you are expecting guests, stay out of my ranked games if you need to go somewhere in 20 or so minutes, stay out of my ranked games if you are high, stay out of my ranked games if you are drunk, stay out of my ranked games (just had this happen to me) if you are in a playful mood and not willing to take anything seriously, stay out of my ranked games

Alternatively if you are feeling pissed off and want to blow off some steam then i would like you to stay out of ranked. Chances are you will end up tilting at the enemy or one of your teammates.

"Hey, league is just a game, I can do whatever I want to have fun" I hear you say. And normally I'd agree with you. Except there are specific avenues for this kind of thing. It's called Normals, it's called ARAM. If you are smoking in a crowded restaurant I might not have a quarrel with you. If you are smoking in a crowded restaurant outside of the designated room for smoking then I will take issue. The cafe has provided a specific space for you to do what you want without disturbing others and you ignore it. Yes League is a game but ranked is a mode where we all try to win. It is a competition and we want you to contribute your best to the cause. If you cannot do this then please go to the other outlets.

4.) Lack of experience: When league had fewer champions than a deck of cards has cards it might be possible to fault someone for not know what a particular champion does. When League champions outnumber Gen 1 pokemon however it becomes more difficult to do so. As much as Riot tries to make their characters appearance reveal their nature this is not always successful and it can never reveal the nuances of each person's kit.

Nothing about Malazhar says that he can suppress you for 2.5 seocnds had range. Those that don't know about Gnar are likely to have a big surprise coming to them. And don't get me started about Shaco, Evelynn, and Teemo. If you don't know what these guys do and how to counter them than you are boned.
